Thats a cherry picked list. He's contributed to lots of republicans too, including Jesse Helms.

Remember, WRAL-TV (under the same Fletcher/Goodmon ownership) single-handedly transformed Jesse Helms from an obscure Raleigh city councilman into a statewide force for conservatives.

I thought judges were supposed to be non-partisan. Did that change? I can't remember.

This is the bribery in question? Tempest in a teapot.

Prosecutors say Jones approached the unidentified FBI officer a month ago, and the two met in Goldsboro on Tuesday to exchange $100 for a disk supposedly containing the text messages [to be used re a family matter]. Jones initially offered to give the officer "a couple cases of beer" for his help but later [alledgedly]agreed to $100 in cash.
