WTVD, Channel 11, has a story coming up at 11:00 p.m. tonight on the Top 10 Water Users in the area. This might be worth seeing, as we've had discussions here just recently about Stage 2 water restrictions and business consumption of water, as well as tiered pricing for water usage.

Wonder why they have been advertising the news story, but won't air it until 11:00 p.m.?

Would you believe I fell asleep?

Hubby shared with me today that among the Top 10 water users in Raleigh were the area of Knightdale, that purchases its water from Raleigh; NC State University; State of NC government offices and the like; Malencroft (sp?) Chemical Co. on US1 near Wake Forest, and a Japanese pharmaceutical company. He could only remember the top 5 from the 11:00 p.m. newscast.

According to WTVD, Raleigh officials were hesitant to share the list -- why? I would have put the City of Raleigh/State of NC high on the list, as well as NCSU.

Until the data is normalized to a per-capita number, it means nothing. The categories are just some billing convenience. I could claim that "the residents of Raleigh" are the biggest users of Raleigh water, and the group is no less arbitrary than Knightdale or NCSU.
