It's time for this New Mexican to explore Cuban cuisine! Breakfast, lunch or dinner, low-key or "dining" ...

What restaurants can you recommend? And what dishes should I be on the lookout for?

Carmen's in Morrisville is pretty good, over by the airport. As is the Oakwood Cafe on Edenton in downtown Raleigh. Havana Grill in Cary on Chatham is also okay, but it depends on what you order.

I like the Ropa Vieja there and the marinated chicken. Picadillo is always a good choice. I still am looking for a good Vaca Frita in the area.

Sorry for the spelling on any of these, been a while since I paid attention to my Spanish writing.

Thanks, rcarrillo!

I trired Havana Grill and was underwhelmed, but I knew, going in, that the reviews were lukewarm.

I'll try Carmen's for lunch tomorrow!
