Hi,

anyone happen to have any recommendations for someone who can install an in-ground basketball hoop? Thought the Dick's service plan was priced very high, figured I can find someone with experience to go to directly for less....

Thanks,
LAR

This is the person my DH used a few years ago- was very happy with his work. They worked together to find the best spot for the install.

I almost used that guy, but went cheapo with a knucklehead off Craigslist.

That was a mistake, except he walked off with the hole 80% dug, and without a penny from me.
I really didn't want to dig the hole. The rest of it, with a little lift from the neighbors, was pretty easy.

I think we used Pro Set also. I can't remember and will check with DH. Worth every penny!

I just looked at the website and I'm sure that's him. I remember his name was John.

How much does Pro Set charge?
And is it really that hard to dig a hole, fill with some concrete, and set the anchor?

We actually used him to put the goal together. No way were we attempting that LOL. We didn't install ours in the ground so can't comment on that except it's often easier (for us anyway!) to pay someone to do stuff like this rather than buy the materials and put in the labor. What I never understand is why people have a problem with how others spend (and make) their money.

Depends on where you are. Some soil, like in Fuquay is sandy and easy to dig. Others, like in parts of Cary, are hard clay, and like digging in concrete. In those locations, it is worth paying someone with an auger.

Lots of videos on YouTube, however you will need tools and time to do this.

Pro Set Basketball Goal Installation. John installs commercial and residential goals day after day. He does it quickly and correctly. The price depends upon the goal install requirements. I contacted him before buying a goal and he guided me to the right goal from an online seller. It's not hard to do the install, but it takes time.
