I live a mile from Brier Creek (540/70) and am directly under the flight path. 75% of the time the planes are taking off over our house rather than landing. It's noisy, especially on days when they take off and don't climb altitude as quickly, then it rattles stuff. For the most part I've adjusted to it- it doesn't affect my sleep but occasionally does my husband's. It IS annoying as crap though when we're trying to have conversations with neighbors or talking on the phone outside and have to pause to wait for a plane to pass due to noise.

I'm actually rather surprised at some of these responses... I lived by Lynn Rd and Ray Rd. (Between 440 and 540 and west of hwy50) and never noticed any noises by planes. What I /did/ notice was how quiet it could get... I mean it's a city! I expected far more noises than I've heard. But all the trees around help muffle the noises a lot. Obviously people are far more sensitive to these noises to me, but really don't think it's a big deal... I also agree that you should visit the area if it is a potential concern of yours.
