I was just at a North Raleigh gun store, won't name it just in case. A line to get in and buy. I waited and managed to purchase a handgun and ammo. Took almost 1 1/2 hours due to the frenzy. Never seen it like this before.

My grandparents had one gun, a shotgun, which I saw them use once and it was to shoot a riduclously large snake up in a tree in rural SC. They owned a farm where a gun was a tool.

These days, it seems owning guns is more of a weird fixation, and those against them or at least reasonable controls on purchasing them are un-American.

I have two 410 shotguns...one pump, one single shot. No handguns. If I need more guns than that God help me

How come people on the "do not fly list" can legally purchase handguns?

BTW the mass shootings will continue until everyone is armed, then they will increase.

People seem to think that being in a real terrorist attack would be just like it is in the video games they play. I don't get it. So much for "Home of the brave."

Mostly, because when the laws governing gun sales were written, the do not fly list wasn't really a thing yet or if it was it was very small and the people on it were pretty extreme criminals.

Now, with all the errors I hear about on the do not fly list, I'm not sure using it as is is the right way, but certainly they can do something to limit things.

Because anyone can be put on the "do not fly list". Heck Ted Kennedy was on the list (a different one than we all know). Many people might not even know they're on the list and the justification for putting people on the list does not involve giving the people on the list their due process rights.

I'm all for not allowing Felons and Terrorists to purchase firearms, but it's a right provided by our constitution and can't be taken away just because your name is on a watch list which may be justifiable or not.

I misread that and thought it said you had 410 guns. That's a lot of guns.
