We use Arrow Exterminators - $65 every other month (but you control frequency) & termite is $290/yr- (after $550 for installation) but that's a Sentricon system (preventative), not the liquid treatment, which some places will try to sell you that only has a 30 day warranty.

We also use Clear Defense and while they're a little more expensive than some, they do a great job. Granulate the entire lawn, spray inside and outside and always set garage and crawl space traps. They fumigate the crawl space as well which is nice. We actually haven't had them spray inside the house for a while, but the only bugs I ever see are the one that fly in from outside when the door is left open for a few seconds. I have not seen any other bugs/spiders in our house...NONE.

I pay for pest treatment about once a year, sometimes not at all. $65 per visit. No contract.

I do put out the ant hotels in August when the pesky little moochers try to visit! They don't like windex, by the way!

I have a termite contract and pay $110 per year. They did find some tunnels last year and treated the area, for no additional cost.

We pay $75 for Stomp, quarterly, and they also do everything that others do. Granulate the entire yard, spray in the crawl space, garages, remove webs from around the house and spray inside the house if you request it. No bugs during even humid times last year!

Although I've noticed that if you run the A/C pretty well inside the house, there will be less bugs. Bugs love humidity, so lower the humidity by running the A/C.

My home is a slab foundation. Do I need periodic termite treatments?

Also is there a service that I don't need to sign a contact? [Edit] Vicki - can you tell me about the $110 per year termite contract? Is there a upfront one time cost?

I think we're around 75/quarter with Sage Pest Control. They use eco-friendly options too.

A slab would be most susceptible to termite damage as they only have to go a short distance to reach your wood. I would recommend just getting annual inspections and spot treating if/when found. To get under contract you will need a full treatment, so basically paying in advance. Swift Creek Exterminating or Custom Termite and Pest are my favorites, I spend almost every day under houses with those companies and they are top notch.
