I was wondering if anyone had any experiences they could share about either of the 2 new Virtual Charter Schools that began this past year? I know both virtual curriculum (k-12 and connections academy) are nationwide and have been around for a long time. But as Charter Schools they have to follow the state's guidelines and use State certified teachers. In particular, I was interested in the Middle school and High school, and even more specifically, the teachers. I know NC Virtual Academy (NCVA) has "live" sessions 4 days a week/4 hours a day with teachers but I don't have information about Connections Academy. Also, I was curious about the Electives that are offered. I know that NCVA Middle School didn't offer any choice this year (all 8th graders had to take a HS Consumer Science class), but am hoping High School would offer more choices?? I am going to post this on other forums for North Carolina since these school are statewide, but thought I'd start local. Thanks in advance for any info.

Avoid, avoid, avoid, based on the news articles being written about K-12's work in other states.

Avoid.
