LOL, the last one is virtually nothing but articles from major newspapers like the N&O and the Charlotte Observer. The others are just opinion blogs. The OP asked for a local newspaper. Why don't you just answer the question, as asked.

Thanks for the guidance; I was trying to avoid proliferation of low-information people. <<grins>>

Re-check; not all are blogs.

You rail against the "liberal media", and then recommend a website that primarily consists of articles from...wait for it...wait for it...the liberal media! Recommending something you rail against is "low information". How many "Make America Great Again" hats do you own?

It can be fun, but for local regional news, the N&O clobbers it. Daily, and from a bit more conservative angle, if that matters to the OP.

Funny.... That the N&O could be considered "a bit more conservative" than something.

Then it must be about 8 pages. N&O is pitiful. Rely on other sister papers like Charlotte for a lot of their articles.

Seriously?

The N&O is pretty moderate. It's not like its the NYT. Their editorial section is heavy on the left (the comments you see on the online version tend to be waaaaay more right-wing dominant; which seems to be the case on most online "news" articles); but not the "news" stories so much; fairly moderate to center-right overall.

Either way the physical circulation for the N&O has dropped like a rock (like most print-news) in the past decade.

I found most local news on News and Observer. Their website is decent too, but I guess you'd need subscription to read beyond limited articles.

I know this sounds nuts, but I follow a lot of the local outlets around here on Twitter in addition to the NYT and Washington Post on Facebook and I stay super informed. I just find myself getting irritated with the N&O. Plus I'm that weird iPhone/tablet generation and we get all of our newspapers on there.
