I think they determined early on that it wasn't a random crime. Other than that, I am surprised it's gotten so little attention as well.

I don't think that's true. When it happened, the news was reporting "that the community has no reason to worry, but it was not necessarily someone that the victim knew."

Random crimes obviously create more panic than domestic or non-random crime, especially in a town ranked the safest place to live. Whether or not this is why we've heard so little about this case, I guess is yet to be seen.

Yeah, I don't think the news ever said it was not random. But I'm wondering if the locals have more info that has not been released to the media.

Interesting point about the safe place to live ranking. I did find it very odd that the autopsy results were release on the same day as the Denkins autopsy, and received very little attention.

Yeah I wonder that as well. If I were living in the neighborhood and had as little info as the general public has, I'd probably be pretty upset.

I got the whole "community has no reason to worry" line as an assurance that this wasn't the beginning of a murder spree, and therefore, not random. But, as you said, SaucyAussie, maybe they just have more info that they have not released.

Well yeah, with it being so close to the Dollar Tree murder, another random murder would start to become genuine concern.

Good point. Yeah... they might be sweeping this under the rug because they do not think there's a high probability that the public is in any sort of immediate danger.

Hmm...

Hmm...

I think more likely that this kind of crime (victim) doesn't sell papers...

Yeah... I thought of that, too.

Do you remember the woman from Cary whose husband murdered her, wrapped her in a blanket and dropped her off beside the road? (I think they wound up in Virginia).

Same demographic.

Nope. But we all remember the names Cooper and Young.
