What construction is occurring at the at-grade crossing? Is related to Morrisville Parkway being widened to four lanes and being completed from North Carolina Highway 55 to Green Level Church Road?
What are they doing for the detour? Last time they closed it for a few days to a week- it was Crabtree Crossing.
My kids both go to school on Morrisville Pkwy. and to get to work, I have to go all the way down the parkway so guess I will be working from home 6 months or so
Considering how bad Morrisville-Carpenter/Aviation is even without this detour traffic, I can't even imagine what things are going to be like. And I'm sure McCrimmon and 54 will somehow become an even bigger mess.
It seems odd to me that they could not figure out a way to do this project without completely shutting down the road there for 6 months.

The official detour is 54/Cary Parkway/High House/Davis. Adds a bit to the trip, doesn't it?!
It is amazing that this was the best solution that they could come up with. That is a pretty major thoroughfare to close for 6 months.
I work off of Weston and live in West Cary and it looks like I'll be taking 40 to 540. Not only do we get to be inconvenienced but now they'll get our toll money as well!
