A year seems like a long time for such a pretty house to be listed.

We are moving to Cary in Aug., from Arizona. Thanks for the info. This neighborhood looks exactly like what we are looking for, minus the commute to RTP and the water treatment plant (which looks like it doesn't bother most people) Thanks for your help.
It is on the street nearest to the water treatment plant (other than the road that you have access to the plant) but not as close as some others on that street. They are really making some great deals right now (builders) that have inventory in that subdivision. There is another on that street for about 10K less with more sq. footage and on the market even longer. This is such a nice area/development and I never had any one complain about the water treatment plant. Most builders are trying to get rid of their inventory and I think buyers are just picking the best that is out there and are not in any hurry. Take advantage of it if you can.

We love the development and considered moving there. Unfortunately, we COULD smell the treatment plant around the houses next to it and up a bit. We visited multiple times and it was evident each time. We moved on to another neighborhood.

My boyfriend and I are considering building a home in the Heritage section of the Park at Westlake and wanted some current information about Starcraft Builders. Comments I've read so far on this site are over a year old. I would like to know how the owners of Starcraft Homes feel about the quality of their home now they are a few years older and I was also curious to know whether there are still issues with the Cary Water treatment plant as far as any odors.

We are also looking at Brighton Forest which is down the road in Fuquay. The neighborhood has great curb appeal and the homes are beautiful but we would really like to stay in Cary (I've lived in Cary for 15 years and would really hate to leave!) I'm curious about Fuquay schools, resales as opposed to homes in Cary, etc.

Any comments would be appreciated!!

Brighton Forest and Park at West Lake aren't terribly far from each other, despite the different addresses (about 5 min, I think). In fact, right now, Brighton Forest feeds into West Lake Elementary. I can imagine that might change in the future (as it can anywhere in Wake Co), but I don't think it's in the tentative 3-year-reassignment plan to change Brighton Forest's assignment (not 100% sure).

Honestly, I have a hard time thinking of Park at West Lake as being Cary. It's a great neighborhood, but it's closer to Holly Springs and parts of Fuquay - I have a Fuquay address and can be there in 5 min or less.

The schools in both Cary and Fuquay (at least the part of Fuquay that includes Brighton Forest) are all Wake County schools, and while some Cary schools have off-the-charts high "ratings/reviews/scores," West Lake is not one of those, but is still very good - as are most of the elementary schools in Fuquay (Wake Co. portion) and the rest of the county.
