The original Mimi's (before it was bought out) was so good- this was back in California in the late 90s.
When they came to TTC years ago, we were excited. We went up there and we were very disappointed. Nothing like the original Mimi's.
It seems that a lot of the Mimi's are switching over to La Madeleine's - They made the switch where we used to live in Texas. Mimi's really took a nose dive and I see La Madeleine's following suit in the near future.

La Madeleine is a chain but is pretty good - particularly for breakfast. Their restaurants are often quaint and cozy with fireplaces, at least the couple that I've been to in DC were. I've never been to Mimi's, though, so I cannot compare. Haven't been in at least five years, though, so it may have changed
I don't know if it has been mentioned in this thread, but Macy's owned that location within the mall. CBL recently purchased the building. See the TBJ article below.
I thought Belk owned its location as well, but apparently the mall bought that out a number of years ago. That leaves Dillard's as the only anchor-owned portion of the mall.
