I do think you could spend that long in there if you liked being in any store that long, though. Me, I have a tough time spending that long in IKEA and it is GIGANTIC.
I thought you had never been to Wegman's before. Did you just go recently? Which one did you go to?

According to TBJ :

"Real estate sources say that Wegmans is also negotiating to buy or lease land for new grocery store locations in south Durham and in Raleigh, but Natale would not comment about other future locations in the state."

For a first timer, 3 hours including lunch is probable if they like to wander around and look at everything. Heck, lunch alone is a process the first time with all the choices...made to order, sandwiches, sushi, prepared Italian--Chinese--American, etc.

It is not like HT where you can be in an out in fifteen mins....it is literally ginormous with many, many selections of each and every little thing you can dream of plus others you might not even think of! And there are so many in-store dining options (yes I said DINING) - you may want a break in the midst of your shopping for a glass of wine and an appetizer, or maybe a little sushi, or maybe a slice of ultimate vanilla cake.....! Oh ye of little faith, soon you will all be drinking the Wegmans Koolaid and see what us Upstate NY'ers are so excited about!!!
The Wegmans near where I went to school in Rochester ('87 - '90) was years ahead of where other grocery stores are today. I was in Ithaca last year and took the family to Wegmans for lunch. I could not believe how much more of everything there was. Incredible. I'm excited.
