Why would they put a Best Buy directly next to an hhgregg though? Seems almost illegal.
The Best Buy at Crossroads in Cary is across the street from HHGregg (and for that matter, the HHGregg was formerly a Circuit City and BB was across the street from them for years).
It's pretty clever, really. Competition. HHGregg is a different type of store than BB in terms of their basic stock. BB has more stock, in general.
I can also see this making it easier for them to compete on price-matches. Again, BB will usually have more ability to match than HHGregg.
I dunno what the HHGregg is like out there, but I hate the one over by Crossroads. The sales staff have weirded me out every time I went in there.

Same way that Lowes and HD always seem to be across the street from each other. At Crossroads, there also was a home improvement store where Dicks and BB&B are now. (They were there before Lowes and HD moved in, then went out of business.)
Well, I've seen Best Buy and hhgregg across the street (or similar) from each other in several places. Same with Walmart and Target, Food Lion and Kroger and Harris Teeter, Lowe's and Home Depot, etc.
Across the street != next door to each other in the same shopping center, though. That's my thing.
For this to work, my only guess is that hhgregg might not be renewing their lease by the time Best Buy opens.
