We've been going there since our kid was in the womb, maybe we get special treatment since they met the kid when he was on the inside. At anyrate, they make up rice and beans for him, and we've never had a problem...we almost always sit either in the big booth in the corner or outside.

If the OP doesn't mind a chain restaurant then I would suggest Red Robin on 15/501 (on the CH/Durham border) as a good place to take young children. It is very kid-friendly and the food is great.
Ugh, I guess that explains why they've been closed the last three times we've gone by, we assumed that we were just getting there too early or that it was closed for christmas.

First Flying Burrito, now Patio Loco. Running out of places to eat in Chapel Hill.

Wild Buffalo Wings also closed recently as did W.B. Yeats, an Irish pub near the Vespa restaurant. We are the kiss of death. Whenever we like a restaurant it closes!

I love Amante Pizza which is at the Carrboro end of Franklin Street, next to the Arts Center and across the street from the Weaver Street Market. It is part of a small chain but the pizza is so good that you won't mind about that.
Amante Gourmet Pizza

I hope your grandbaby recovers quickly.
