We used someone for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah who did a good job for a few hundred dollars. We didn't want to spend a fortune for just a party, but we did want it captured on video. I disagree with skipping the video and just going with stills. The video captured so much that we would have missed if we just had photos. Of course, you'll probably only watch it once per year on your anniversary, but that's about as often as you'll look at your wedding album, too - except for the few framed ones around your house.
