Does anyone know of an endocrinologist that doesnt require a referral from your primary physician? Ive checked with about 5 offices and none of them will see me without a referral.

Thank you

I suspect you're confused. It's probably your insurance policy that requires the referral to see a specialist.

Not confused. I work in the medical field and an familiar with insurance referrals. Most of the endocrinologist offices ive contacted state that due to the basis of their speciality they require referral type appointments? I'm in an open access insurance plan so I can go anywhere but the ones I've contacted won't schedule me without a referral...

I've never required a referral for Raleigh Endocrine Associates - love my doctor, the staff...well, I think they may have a bit of turnover, some are great, some are a bit confused.

I don't have any experience with Endo's in Raleigh, but in FL several were going to referrals due to the large number of diabetes paitents they were seeing. Mine specifically switched to only handling thyroid and parathyroid disorders and requried a referral after that switch for the intial appointment.

I use Dr. Warren at Creedmoor Centre Endocrinology. The front office staff are frustrating to deal with though but Dr. Warren is wonderful.
