Anyone know much about the part of north raleigh way up where Route 50 and 98 meet. The neighborhood I'm looking at are Ethans Glen and Parker Falls. Seems like one of the few places in the region where you can actually get some real estate for your money.

That is a tough call because both neighborhoods are wonderful! We looked in ethan's glen when we were moving to the wake forest area, and the only thing I didn't like is that it wasn't necessarily closer to north raleigh or wake forest, it was right between. I almost felt like it was in the middle and I would have to drive a distance for everything I wanted.

Parker falls is closer to the "things" in north raleigh and also a beautiful neighborhood.

I think both neighborhoods are very well built, nicely situated, nice homes, etc. It seems like it is really about location!

thanks for the info. It is about location for us. My wife will be working at Rex and i will be going to Durham so the only places that make a ton of sense are these neighborhoods or Brier Creek.

Both are nice neighborhoods. Large lots (~1 acre per home), quality custom builders, and community pools. I live near the two neighborhoods, so if you have any specific questions, either about the neighborhoods or living in this area of North Raleigh, feel free to fire away.

If I were to ever convince hubby and daughter to move, Ethans Glen would be where I'd end up!

Probably parker will be a tad closer for the commute to rex, but nothing spectacular, I don't think. I definitely like those two neighborhoods over brier creek, but that is just personal preference for me because I like a little more space between houses! Is there a house plan you like more than the other? Is there something that is swaying you one way or the other?

Honestly, it seems like a coin toss! I already said I would prefer parker falls, but then vicki would prefer ethan's glen, so it really matters which place you would prefer!

Excellent choices either way.

Leigh

Goodness, this area, 50 and 98 is now considered to be "North Raleigh"? Just curious.

Yeah, it is. It sounds better than New Money Raleigh.

What makes you think my money is new? Quite presumptuous dont you think? People are spending the same amount of money to live a little closer to the RTP and Target but have to look out their windows and see their neighbor walking around in his boxers. I like trees better. I can live with a 20 minute commute.
