We are relocating to the Regency area of Cary and heard that they are building a whole new Waverly Place. Has anyone heard of what stores or restaurants will be in there? other than Whole Foods?

No, but I'm very curious to know! I heard the new Whole Foods is supposed to be the biggest in the Triangle. I can't wait!

It seems strange to me that they are pretty much done with the renovations but there's still not much of anything inside the shopping center. And what happened to the Whole Foods expanding? As far as I can tell there is no expansion in the works. That Whole Foods really needs an expansion too. It gets too packed in there on weekends and after work.

I heard from someone that works there that the expansion of whole foods is not going to happen.

They essentially put lipstick on a pig. Waverly needs a big anchor to attract anything. Sad that there's so much open space yet I curse Whole Foods size when shopping on a Saturday.

The open space looks great, I think it will attract more people as it warms up as there is a playground, frozen yoghurt and a gelati place on the way.

I heard a rumor there would be a weekend farmers market there during the summer months as well.

Waverly was dead and is still dead. Nothing worth mentioning is planned (yes, there are some stores) but nothing spectacular. Also, Whole Foods has axed thier plans for a self-standing store there and will remain where they are now.

Have they replaced the missing slide at the playground yet, or is there still just a pole sticking up in the middle of the ground? I used to get a lot of entertainment from watching the confused and anxious parents as they tried to assist their kids down the old death slide.

Here's what it looked like, by the way:

Children's Slides Recalled by Landscape Structures due to Fall Hazard

Amazing that anyone ever thought that was a good idea.
