I do not plan to sell my house for at least 2-3 years. Of course it may be sooner if I'm transferred to another state. I would like to establish a relationship with a good realtor now, however, as I occasionally have questions, concerns, etc., and would appreciate professional help.
As an example, I would like to have a realtor come and look at our house and determine the impact on the value due to a house that is being built next door. Basically, I'm interested in what impact it will have on the price of my house when we decide to sell it. The short story is that a house is being built next door to ours that limits our view of the golf course. It was placed too far to the rear of the lot, in my opinion, and now we're worried that it will reduce the value of our home.
We plan to visit the new owner and ask for additional landscaping to reduce the impact. It would be nice to say that a realtor has looked at our home and determined we've lost XX thousand dollars in value because of his home placement, and we'd appreciate the same amount being spent on landscaping to increase the value of our house.
The realtor should be very knowledgeable of Wake Forest and the Heritage. I can promise you we'll use you when we decide to sell the home, so long as we believe the information we're receiving is valuable.
