Small town feel with friendly and helpful people, however very expensive real estate.

To piggy back on this thread. What zip codes are "true" Chapel Hill?

Desperate Grandparents summed it up perfectly.

I love to visit Chapel Hill for Southern Season, some of the other shops and restuarants, to walk around town. We didn't buy a home in Chapel Hill because I didn't like the college town vibe. For me its a nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there.

I've read that some houses are listed as a Chapel Hill address, but aren't truly in Chapel Hill. I might be mistaken.

Well, zip code won't help you there. The issue is that there are some properties right on the edge of town that have their mail delivered by the Chapel Hill post office (and therefore have Chapel Hill addresses), but technically are not a part of Chapel Hill. My husband works in a building like that. It's inside Durham, but the address is Chapel Hill.

You're better off checking to see which schools are assigned to the property. It's more reliable.

We too did not buy in Chapel Hill because of the college influence/ vibe being so significant. We also felt like Chapel Hill RE prices are over priced for what Chapel Hill has to offer.

Thanks. Which schools would Chapel Hill neighborhoods feed into?

Check the school district's website for their list of schools.
Schools - Schools
