My wife and I are planning on moving down in May but were wondering how the job market is. Living here in NY is just too much. Thanks for all your advice. We'll need to rent a house since we have a 5 yr old. Shepherd mix.

Don't mind what everyone says. There are a lot of opportunities here. Even w/ the economic downturn.

Just check salaries. Many jobs pay less here than in some other areas.

From what I see moving to the Triangle is a catch 22 ... Major employers want only to look at local applicants. Others are told not to come unless they have a job lines up ... how can it be both ways?

I had to tell employers that I was willing to cover all of my moving expenses, pay for my interview trip, report to work within 2 weeks of accepting an offer, and take a 6-month contract job instead of a full-time position.

It worked though.

If you want to go with a short term lease (because you want to buy a house), there is no breed restrictions at Cary Towne Park Apartments in Raleigh.

My complex only restricts breeds considered aggressive. Northridge Crossings.
