Has anyone dealt with a company called Weatherguard Roofing and Construction, LLC? I cannot locate them online, but they have visited a co-workers house and indicated their roof had damage and an insurance claim should be submitted.

They were then able to interface with the insurance company and an adjuster was sent to the co-workers house, where they did find damage. The adjuster recommended replacing the roof.

My co-worker is a little worried because he cannot find out any information about them.

Sounds like the classic "Irish Travelers" scam to me. If you google it, you'll find many examples.

They came into our neighborhood and did the same a few years ago. Most all of the neighbors went and used them...after a while of holding out we too also ended up using them. Yes insurance of each homeowner comes out and verifies their claims and signs-off. Our roofs in the neighborhood were probably getting closer to end of life for some houses.
We had no issues with them and they were good to work with. No other neighbor issues either and to date no problems.
They do have a website: Weatherguard Roofing and Restoration | Charlotte & Raleigh NC Roofers
