I have plans to go with a group from work in March

One of my friends was in town and Chatham Hill Winery was on her list of places to see. We went. We paid our $5. We never got a tour. 8 people came in while we were doing our tasting and none of them were offered tours either. We went for one of their special events posted on their website...a special wine/cheese pairing weekend. There was no cheese. It was like they forgot they had posted that special event for the weekend.

I'm not a wino but enjoy drinking it and have been to Napa Valley and several times to the wineries of the Finger Lakes region in NY.....Thoroughly enjoying both. It was strange being at a winery with no vineyards in sight (Chatham Hill). I personally didn't find any wines worth buying. But my friend purchased a case of their sweet wines to make sangria. She liked them enough to carry them back to Florida with her.

Default Technically a winery, but...

I've been there. It's in a small industrial park with no vines in sight. They buy grapes from elsewhere and bottle on site, so it's not a typical winery. The people were nice and some of the wines were tolerable. As you can imagine, we were disappointed.

If you're looking for more of the true winery experience, a day trip to the Charlottesville, VA may be in order. There's some pretty good wineries in the area.
