I love Boone and go there hiking a ton! I just don't think it has that one standout destination or restaurant that would make a list such as that but it would definitely make a list of favorite towns in NC for sure.

The thing about Boone (at least in my opinion) is that there are other nearby towns that I've visited (Banner Elk, Blowing Rock) or I want to visit (West Jefferson) that on the surface appeal to me more. I do have one restaurant in Boone (Vidalia) that I've been wanting to check out for some years.

You could always try the Potato Festival in Elizabeth City. This year it is May 19th - 21st.
