Default Looking for a neighborhood between Duke and NCSU

My husband and I are in our late 20s and currently love living in Chapel Hill. However, next year we might be taking different positions over the summer and need to commute to Duke and the NCSU vet campus. We both want as short of a commute as possible, and we are looking for suggestions on neighborhoods with condos/townhomes/small homes that would allow for as short of commutes as possible. Although southwest Durham is affordable, it seems a little far to NCSU. Although Morrisville appears to have nice options, it seems a little far to Duke. What housing is being built in the RTP? We found a townhome community called Creekside in the RTP that seems to give each of us the minimal commute distance. Alexander Place sounds perfect but it sounds like it has sold out. I would love to hear other suggestions or ideas on locations that we could look into.
