Oh, beautiful! And I'm jealous, looking at your pics bobbis, while I listen to snowplows rumbling through my apt parking lot here in CT, this morning.

Did you get slammed again? What part of CT. My parents live in Westchester, NY and keep getting more snow!

We had a couple days of BITTER cold, and about 4 inches last night-which isn't too bad I guess, but now it's raining and there is still all the hard frozen stuff under it. Ugh. I actually took today off work to run errands with my kids (I planned this weeks ago, they need to try on clothes) and I'm tired of having to deal with this weather!

Ah yes, March, my favorite month in NC and the only one who's weather I would definitley trade with here in Upstate NY, where we are still without a doubt in winter. March sees the nice spring temps, without the horrible pollen that reeks havoc from April to mid-June.

Beware! Last year we had an early onset to spring...the azalea's were blooming...oaks were leafing out...dogwoods were blooming. Then the first week of April we had a HUGE freeze...all the blooms froze and died. The daffodils and crocus are more hardy but boy it was sad to lose all the new growth on the hollies/oaks/azaleas/dogwoods.

We had 6" of snow yesterday in MA which turned to rain this AM. The snow turned to heavy slush and now it's all frozen solid.

Mid 60's today and tomorrow and 70's Monday & Tuesday. MAN I LOVE NC. I love being outdoors and the weather is fabulous. I called my Mom back in MA and she is so down in the dumps. It is freezing there AGAIN, with yet more snow. The winter blues up north are so bad and she can't wait to come visit next month. She says she is soooo jealous. She can't move down here though as Dad is so set in his ways. No matter how rotten it is up there, he's gonna stick it out.

Go to the WRAL gardens the first week of April and you will know that spring has arrived. On the way home drive down St. Mary's and take a right on White Oak Road and a left on West Lake. Take your kids to ride the train at Pullen Park first. The Gimghoul neighborhood in Chapel Hill is postcard pretty as well. The Rose Garden off Hillsborough street is another good one. Early spring around here is special.

Is March a good time to go visit Duke Gardens?
