This is the reason I joined chapel ridge 3 weeks ago. I hope spring never gets here. I've been playing 1:20 nine hole rounds...Its like I own the place.

I have heard Chapel Ridge is a real nice track. The only negative I have heard is the remote location, and obviously that is a variable factor.

Rich - where do you live and get to Chapel Ridge from - is the range grass or mats, and is there a short game practice area or just a putting green?

UNC is not an option due to that additional fee - I will typically be able to play only on weekends.

I live in Pittsboro. The range is grass, however we're hitting off mats now until the grass greens up. There is a putting green, as well as a practice bunker to hit ball into the range.

The Crossings is reasonable price. We live there so my husband plays every other weekend (he is not a member). Anyway, he has played quite a few courses here and in Florida and he likes it and says it is a challenging course to play.

Can anyone suggest a nice course for my husband and I to play on the weekends? We live in North Raleigh. We can't afford a membership anywhere. Just want to play on the weekends. Are the public courses all around the same price for greens fees? Can any be walked?

Default Anybody played at Lakeshore Golf Course in Durham?

Hi all,

I haven't played at any of those, but wonder whether anybody heard or played at the Lakeshore Golf Course (Lumley Road, Durham). It's conveniently located at the RTP and it seems to be really popular place (especially for people working at RTP).

Or do you know any other golf course close to RTP (besides Brier Creek Golf Course), please?

Thank you.

I don't know how much it costs, but I know several low handicap golfers who are members of Devils Ridge Golf Club in Holly Springs and are quite happy. You can view a brief course description as well as the course scorecard. Depending on where in SW Durham you are driving from, you may be able to drive to the course in 30 minutes.
