Simple question for thy locals, but anyone have opinions about making ABC item and selling (locally) it on Craigslist to make some extra dollars? Times tough, OT is not enough, so figured on using skills to make some things that humans may or may not purchase (of course for reasonable funds).
Thoughts?
Thanks.
I use Craigslist all the time an 99% of it I'm pleased. This year I met a bozo of a tree guy, but besides him I always had good experiences. I don't see why you wouldn't use it and other platforms? If you are selling something then you want more exposure.
I think it's entirely dependent on what your selling. And, to a lesser degree, the price point.
I buy and sell using CL (have for years and years) and OfferUp. I've sold stuff on CL for $10-$18,000 (a car). OfferUp has been pretty good for cheap stuff, like under $50.
I have tried (locally) FB pages, Wallapop, Nextdoor and some other app that I can't remember the name of. NONE of those provided any success in buying or selling what I wanted.
I used to use ebay for buying and occasionally selling. Haven't used them for buying in years, but have sold a couple of DH's pool sticks.
But none of these were for homemade items. If what you are making is a crafty type item, etsy is your best friend.
You might look into the many Buy/Sell/Trade sites on Facebook as opposed to Craigslist.
Interesting. This explains why I have had very little traffic on Craigslist on a boat I have for sale. Not being a Facebook user I had no idea people migrated there. Is there a Facebook page that most people frequent for buy/sell/trade items?
