It certainly did fill up...from empty to the very top with just one rainfall! The amazing thing is that its located below a downspout that collects rain from only about 200 square feet of roof, so I wasn't sure just how quickly it would fill. Now I'm going to feel pressed to use the water before our next rain!!!

I'll also probably be going to buy a second barrel for the back yard now...and possibly even a third.

Cool!!! Thanks for the update! I'm bummed that we did not get one installed before last night. But mdp_az you've motiviated me!!

Hey if you have extra water in your barrel you can always sell it to your neighbors. Or wash your car with it.
