Default How to find specific type of realtor?

It has been recommended by many that since my husband and I are considering a move to Durham (we particularly like Northgate Park and Old West Durham) that we use a realtor who is very familiar with these areas. How do we find a realtor who has extensive knowledge of these areas? We love the older areas in Durham, but we're on a budget, looking for a home under $175000 and we have a young child. We would like to work with someone who appreciates our love of the city and older architecture, who doesn't steer us toward newer home developments, but knows enough about the area to provide housing options that would be safe for raising a family. Are you allowed to provide realtor's names in this forum? Any tips would be great. Thanks for the help!

No, we aren't allowed to post realtor info in the forum, but people are allowed to send you info through Direct Message.

If I were you, I would look for realtor offices that are located in the same zip code as the area in which you'd like to live. For instance, you're interested in 27701. Just do a search on the internet for "realtor" and "27701" and see what you get.
