You see... our founders never counted on this sort of stuff being affordable to the hoi polloi.

Just the 1%ers, like themselves.

Poor people were very lucky if they had one shotgun or rifle for hunting. Period.

In NC, carry permits are shall issue, but purchase permits can be denied for frivolities, such as "moral character issues". A friend's mother was denied on that ground. She was as close to a saint as anyone living but the reviewer took a dislike to her.
