Karmanos may eventually sell the team and it may eventually move to Canada. On the other hand, Canadian teams do not always fill their arenas. This season the Ottawa Senators are averaging only 14984 which is 24th in the league. It's their worst attendance in 20 years even though the Sens rank 12th with 21 points in 18 games. Maybe the Sens should move to Quebec.
Canes attendance will improve if the team keeps winning.

Be a while before anybody takes that gamble again. If someone does, look for an arena that's not in downtown. One of the problems that the Thrashers faced is that much of the fan base was 60-90 minutes (one way) north of Phillips Arena. Less of an issue for the Hawks.

Canadian media loves to flock around sunbelt teams like vultures whenever there are rumors about a sell and twist it into a "team x is moving to Quebec City" story. I'd just stay away. That said I do hope someone local or someone with deep pockets who is committed to keeping the team here comes to the plate soon so we can squash these pesky rumors once and for all.

They are currently 3 points out of a wild-card spot and have a couple of games in hand over the teams they trail for those two spots. It's not an unreasonable headline at this time, especially with this 4 game winning streak in which they are looking like a competent team.
Have to keep the streak going though and restart these streaks more consistently if they are serious about playing beyond Easter.
