I used to love 105.1 when it was Bob and Madison. Since then Bob has been on a trump-like shock and awe kind of tirade that I just don't care for. Gene and Julie were cliche but funny, and I have no kids to worry about, guess I'm just odd.
the radio scene in the Triangle is awful. no classic country... the so called "alt rock" station plays whatever Iheart is paying for... I mean,.. assumes we want to hear -- a bunch of poppy stuff. definitely not alt rock. 96.1 used to be a great station, now it's we play everything, mostly junk. 101.5 can't decide what is, every time I listen it's top40 pop junk. I find myself listening to 98.7 and 92.3 from the Triad more often... except in the morning the 92.3 people talk nonstop. Or I pop in a CD. yes, remember those? and don't get me started about the sorry state of so-called country music today. 100.7? the same 'ol each day: steve miller, pink Floyd, led zeppelin, journey = that's their playlist.....moldy oldies.
Bob doesn't sound well. I hope he's not in poor health but it sounds like his speech has slowed significantly.
You may not be aware that Bob was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2007. Since then, he has struggled with aphasia, which was complicated by some seizures that cropped up a few years ago, followed shortly thereafter by a mild stroke. Here's his wife's retelling of the story: Triangle Aphasia Project

One would think a serious life event like that might give a man some perspective to perhaps reconsider questionable character traits like racism...but it doesn't seem to have had that effect for Bob.
Two guys named Chris on 92.3 is far and away the best morning show, and I include my past life in Southern California in that statement. Just a great show.

Bob might wanna give up smoking like a chimney for starters.

Bob did give up smoking for a number of years. Pretty certain Bob just wants to live the rest of his life happy.
Being a former smoker (actually I think a better description is smoker who chooses to currently not smoke) myself there isn't a day goes by that I don't miss it. The negatives outweighed the positives so I chose to stop. If I decide to one day start back it will be when I'm near the end of my life. I hope this is not the case for Bob but if it is, smoke on brother!
