The Colonial Pipeline, which transfers gasoline from Houston Texas up throughout the east coast (passing through Charlotte & Greensboro in our case) failed, and is projected to be out of service for another week:

Various other transport (trucking and tanker) are being brought into play to ease the issue, as well as relaxation of the fuel blend requirements.

So, is the entire pipeline shutdown? Where was the point of the failure? Can you link an article? Thanks!

The leak was near Helena Alabama, which is just below Birmingham on the above map. Here's two related articles:

Went up .25 cents last night at at least one local station. I hear a dollar or more is likely by Sunday.

I drive an all electric Nissan Leaf. I'd love to go completely off grid with solar, but we have too many trees for that, so I'm running on Shearon Harris power I guess.

I saw a headline on facebook about a pipeline spill, but didn't put 2 and 2 together that it was Colonial pipeline. The spill looked terrible.

Hey! We have a Leaf and a couple of Volts.

The Volts never use gas unless we are on a trip out of town.

I wish we could go solar, too.
