I have two boys in River Dell and simply LOVE the school. The principal is amazing...a very hands on, approachable (door open to anyone, including the children...at any time) principal.

They have a school wide reward system using "racers" which are just little ticket stubs that the kids collect for good behavior; doing homework, listening, even bringing healthy snacks, doing laps at recess, etc. Then every 9 week period, they hold a Racer Party during school hours for the kids who met their racer goals; ice cream party, dance party, movie party, etc...it changes.

We're having a tough year this year with my 9 year old when he had a fabulous year last year, but its not due to the school, per se (I will explain more in private if you wish but do not wish to publicize it here).

River Dell is an exact replica of Riverwood Elementary, which this area was districted to before we moved here. Alot of the kids in my S/D were grandfathered in to Riverwood, and didn't want to switch when River Dell was built a few years ago. Point being, that everyone loved Riverwood as well. Seems to me that they will be needing another Elementary school around here soon and that one will be the same high quality.

Lauren
