I was wondering if anybody can help me with this...
I started a LLC today in Raleigh and NC laws requires you to have a NC address. So what i basically need is a mailbox with a NC address, that would forward me the mail to my NYC address.
I've called a few places and received some quotes, but I was wondering is there a service that does this on a better level?
By better level I mean, cheaper, faster, has a digital feature, an app or basically some element that sticks out and makes this service better than it's competitors .
Also, if anyone else has a similar situation, what has and hasn't worked best for you ?
I have a great tip for this but first would like to know the reason you're creating a business in NC if you're really in NYC? I just want to be sure I'm in support of your reasons before I give away gold, hope that makes sense.
I own a house in Raleigh and I'm going to rent it while I'm in NYC. I'm putting the house in a LLC for obvious reasons. The LLC will be based in NC, so I need a NC address-hence my search for a good P.O. Box/Mail service.

Well first let me say I'm not a fan of this. You mentioned in another message you had a very brief stint in NC and are moving back to NYC. I think too many people buy property here because it's cheaper than where they came from, then rent it out to people who do not take proper care of the property and cause the value of the neighborhood to decline as a result. I don't blame the renters as much as the landlords.
But that part aside, what I don't understand is why your LLC needs to be based in NC, and why you need an LLC at all to rent a home? An umbrella policy on the property would protect you from liability more than placing the rental under a separate business entity and would cost a lot less. Unless you're looking for a weird level of anonymity (which would not exist if you form an LLC, it would be fully public info).
The postal service will forward your mail to your NY address and deliver the tenants mail if you submit an official change of address, I'm not sure the duration of service but it would give you some time to figure it out in case you're doing something other than just buying property here specifically to rent out.
