Hi all,
I am a newbie in this forum, and I am going to be relocating to work in UNC hospital. I find several apartments that i am interested to rent in Chapel Hill.

On the other hand, I also come across "Lofts at Lakeview" at Durham which I love the layout of the flat. I am wondering does another one know if it is convenient to travel from this place to UNC?

I'm thinking you're looking at a 25 minute commute from there. remember, though to add in the time it takes to park and walk to the hospital (at least 10 minutes I would think)

You are looking at 15-20 minutes. You also will have the option of the added option of the TTA bus, which will pick up at in front of the building and drop off at UNC hospital in 30 min.

However, I must admit I'm scratching my head at why on earth you'd want to live at Lakeview if you are working at UNC? At Lakeview, you're paying a huge premium to be within walking distance of Duke Hospitals. For the money there has to be some great options in Chapel Hill or Carborro. Or, if you want to be in Durham, why not closer to downtown (West Village)?

Yeah, I would say 15-20 minutes under normal circumstances. However, during rush hour I would add another 10 minutes, since there is usually some congestion on 15-501.

Thank you for your replies.

I am going to rely on public transportation so it's good to know that there is a bus stop in front of the building.
As the reason I am interested in Lofts at Lakeview but working in UNC, please correct me if I am wrong since I am still confused about NC, is that there is more activities in Durham in terms of dining, cultural events, as opposed to Chapel Hill. I thought Lakeview would be a balance for quiet and "lively" life, and I kind of like their amenities from their advertisement. I like Lofts layout as well.

I shall look for apartments near by Chapel Hill as well and do some comparisons.
Anyone familiar with Alta Springs, Bradford place and Meadowmont at Chapel Hill?
