IKEA is looking at local spots for a Potential Store in the Raleigh-Cary Area according to local news. That would be great news and definitely a popular destination for visitors from all over. With 3 major universities and tons of young and growing families IKEA would be big hit for sure.
Not exactly. The article supports everything the OP said, it confirms IKEA wants to put a store here and is looking for the right location and/or lease deal.

Not really, it stated it is about to put one in Norfolk and that it didn't confirm any plans for expansion for NC then says it didn't deny it either. Only thing that is confirmed is that the Cary Town Center is in talks with a large recognizable retailer.

IKEA is great in terms of furniture options here in the Triangle.
I personally think it's overrated though (hot take) - awesome when I was a poor college student, otherwise a bunch of stuff that is poorly constructed.
I like IKEA - fun place to shop and I've had no problem with their furniture quality over the years. Just ordered a Poang chair & ottoman from them last week as a matter of fact. It'll be years before a store would be open though, no matter what location they choose.
