Oh, yes I see. Well while I really REALLY hope the stadium is in Raleigh I'm just hoping for NCFC to make MLS status. First things first and all. If they do and they come to Raleigh I'm 100% going to get season tickets and be a big supporter. I'm SUPER excited about this.
I'm not sure where else downtown it could be built without gentrifying neighborhoods or doing some major demolition to a few blocks . They probably would have to find some land somewhere and basically build a "North Hills" around the stadium to give it a "downtown" feel.
Man, I feel like somewhere ITB on the Capital Blvd corridor would work. You would have Capital for car traffic, and rail nearby if that is ever built out.

I sure would rather take a soccer stadium over the industrial eye sore of Capital Blvd ITB!
Yeah, that's a good location. I was mentioning it earlier. Basically where the garbage truck depot is now used to be a baseball stadium and it was removed in the 1970s. The long term plans of the city is to move the depot out, assuming over by farmers market or maybe somewhere near the bus maintenance place off Poole Rd. It's close enough to most of Glenwood south that it would probably spur some additional redevelopment along West on the other side of Peace st as well as near the stadium. Would have a good view of most of downtown skyline too. Parking would be an issue for sure though.

Yeah, that's a biggie. There's a garage at Glenwood and Tucker, but not near enough for a soccer crowd (let alone asking the average American to actually walk more than three blocks to do anything) The club ownership seemed pretty adamant about parking being tied in with the deal.
