I believe that's all they offer new customers in this area where TWC rolled out the MAXX upgrade, unless you qualify for the low-income rate tier.

Part of their strategy to focus only on the most profitable customers they can wring the $$$ out of.

Sounds right to me. A good reason for regulation.

I have Spectrum internet only and got 100mbps for 50 bucks a month (49 actually) with no contract. When I ordered these were the offerings:

50 for 44
100 for 50
300 for 70

I'd call again OR have someone who lives in your house but isn't on the account set up to have new service established at the address.

Were you a new customer? Did you order prior to the Spectrum takeover?

I was "new" in that I moved to a new house and cancelled my prior service when doing so. My new address didn't have TWC/Spectrum available for the first month I lived there. I got signed up in February of this year so I believe it was already Spectrum by then.

When I called I talked about AT&T and Google offering xxxx for xxxx and could they match or beat it. Not sure if that would help you.

I just don't think they care anymore. This is actually my 2nd time going through this and they don't seem to want to budge. It's not like the good old days.

Thankfully we have options, it's just a hassle.

Reading this threat has made the impossible happen. I actually miss TWC.
