Pretty sure Merritts is BLTs only. Do they serve burgers? Certainly BLTs are their claim to fame.

For an unusual burger go to the Saxapahaw General Store and get a goat burger.

We ate at Beasleys and although we didn't have the friend chicken, we weren't that impressed with the food. And the chairs were uncomfortable, which didn't make us feel like hanging around.

Nanas on the other hand was an experience. Just the kind of menu we like, very interesting things, not your every day. The only caveat is parking, it's pretty hard to find, so arrive early.

When I went to find the website for "More", I found out it's also owned by the same people who own "Taste". More has been doing a special chef's tasting menu lately, which looks great.

While it seems like the overall experience of Beasleys wasn't what you were looking for, why go to a Fried Chicken joint and not eat their signature dish?

We're also looking for the best fried chicken in the area. I looked at Dames but it seems very commercial.
We went to Picnic in North Durham over the weekend. The folks in our party who got the buttermilk fried chicken said it was great.

It's a drive but the steak house at south of the border is incredible.

"Try Blistered Pig in Apex for "Roasted Fried Chicken" which is Chicken cooked on the smoker, and then breaded and fried. It's pretty damn good! "

Oh my. This sounds fantastic!

I read (Triangle Food Blog) that Speckled Hen had their last serving recently. It hinted that they may be making changes and reopening in a new mode. I'd call first just to be sure.

Brew n Que in Cary is a hole in the wall, but truly a hidden gem when it comes to food. I'll also vouch for Nashers. They're still very good, but not quite as outstanding as they were in their first 4-6 months.
