Hmmm. I don't know anything about that neighborhood. Hopefully somebody "in the Know" can chime in here. But something about the listings I found for that neighborhood send up a red flag in my mind. The homes are right along the Neuse River and were built in 1999, are 1,500 sq ft yet they are only around $125K and $134K. Both homes currently listed appear to be owned by a company called Diversified Growth & Development Corp. I don't know who they are or what they are about (are these forclosures perhaps??), but I would want to know more about this company and why they now own these two houses if I was interested in this neighborhood. When I checked the tax records for pics of the home the only thing is showed was a swampy looking plot of land!

Perhaps there are flooding issues?????

If I am totally off-base, I apologize, and somebody please feel free to set me straight, but if I were you, I would definitely dig deeper to find out all you can about this neighborhood. Something about it just doesn't seem right to me.

I think a good realtor should be able to help you figure out what is going on here.

NRG,
Thanks for the input. You hit it on the nose. Those are the houses I was looking at. I looked it up on the tax records too and saw the pictures. The prices seemed very reasonable, but why? It's zoned for Wakefield for now. I looked at others in the neighborhood and they look decent. Thanks for digging deeper for me. Maybe someone else knows more. What's it like by the river? The other thing is that it's close to 27610.
