There are older homes.
But, you need to bear in mind that the area's growth has been so dynamic, the great majority of housing has been produced since the 1950's.
Cary was ~5000 population in 1970, and today is >160,000.
Apex was right at 10,000 in 1997, and today is >47,000.
Morrisville was 1500 in 1990, and today is >26,000.
Raleigh was 220,000 in 1990, and today is >440,000.

We didn't all move into old houses.

You can find older homes, for sure. The half acre or more will make it a more intriguing search.

If you are seriously looking, I would look at resales in Heritage which is just a few miles from where you were looking. You can get a very well built 10 to 15 year old home around 400K, although there are some higher of course.

There are definitely some half acre lots in North Hills, because I bought a home with one. Most of the houses in that neighborhood were built in the 60s/70s though.

Right. I get pretty literal about posters' expressed requirements, but half acre lots with 1960's homes and newer are certainly around.

Thanks for the help, guys. Just looking at this point but it is nice to know those homes are indeed out there. I am especially excited to hear there is a possibility of some land as I would like to have a vegetable garden, maybe some chickens...maybe even a pygmy goat or two!? First though my husband will need to find a job there (mine is remote), we are aiming for late summer/early fall.

Centex was the original builder when we bought a townhouse there 8 years ago.
Pulte acquired Centex several years ago, and homes to the left of clubhouse are Pulte
designs and build quality even though they use Centex name in marketing.
