Driving down BCpkwy Monday, the irrigation sprinklers were on and pointed out into the street as they auto-rotated. Got a free car wash and my glasses cleaned through my open window, no extra charge!
It's rare, but this isn't the first time I've seen the water being wasted. (IE: sprinklers on during rainfall).

I've always admired the upkeep and landscaping of the median strip. But now it occurred to me that I don't know who to call if there's trouble. If the irrigation is running during rainfall, (or running and needs adjustment!)

Who pays for this, and who can we contact for problems?

Start with city of Raleigh DOT, 919-996-3030. If its someone else they can point you in the right direction or pass on the message themselves.

Brier Creek Parkway west of Glenwood/US 70 is NCDOT, Brier Creek Parkway east of Glenwood/US 70 is City of Raleigh.

I highly doubt NCDOT does any upkeep with the landscaping of the median so perhaps it's a shared agreement with either the City or the shopping center?

I don't think I've ever seen anyone working on the medians on the Walmart side of Glenwood/70, but I see a regular group of landscapers fairly often working (cutting grass, trimming bushes, planting flowers) on the Target side. They don't appear to be from the state, so I'm guessing the shopping center or the country club are footing the bill.

I believe I've seen the same crews working on the median landscaping and in the shopping center. American Asset Corp owns the shopping center - contact info for them:

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm quite sure the strip isn't being cared for by DoT. It's exceptionally well cared for, plants replaced, trees relocated, mowed often, permanent irrigation, etc.

You'd think they'd put up a "We Did This, aren't we Good, call this number if you want to hire us" sign every few blocks.
