I saw a hummingbird a few days ago. I was not expecting that. Has anyone else seen them?

Not yet, but I don't have feeders up. Birds of migration are now pouring into the Carolina's. I've seeing lots of swallows flying overhead the last few weeks. I already have 7 pairs and counting of Purple Martin at my place at the coast.

I saw the first one a couple weeks ago. I bought a new feeder and had it hanging (empty) to see how it looked. I was surprised when I saw something buzz up to it. Once I realized it was a hummingbird, I rushed inside to boil some water and make nectar/solution! They do seem earlier this year.

We didn't have a feeder up, but the bird seemed to be headed to where we usually have the feeder. It's up now!

We saw our first one about a week ago. A little late this year. I've been tracking their first arrival date for the last 15 years. In almost every year we've seen the first ones between April 4-8.

I was later putting up my feeders than I meant to be. I finally got mine out on Sunday and saw my first hummer this am!
