Are you still getting this rate? I had $39.99 (Total Bill) with TWC, and they assured me it would not go up for quite some time, but I noticed my last two bills with Spectrum are $59.99 on the credit card statement.

I focking hate them! Trying to decide if I should fight it again, or just go with new service with ATT or another, and give it a go.

Currently, we have 50mbps and it's plenty. Two low-volume users who stream netflix and send emails, not much else. Add one more you-tube streamer when my daughter visits, not that often.

We don't watch TV, but I'm almost willing to pay a little more for a tv/internet package just for the satisfaction of telling Spectrum to go eff themselves. (If my bill stays at $60, it wouldn't be THAT much more for TV too, maybe another $300 a year.) If people are still getting $40/mo, I'll fight the fight one more time to keep that rate.

That's what I had too, until my bill started auto-billing $59.99. Off to the trenches.

Frontier internet $39.95 for 6Mbps down 512K up (not sure of the upstream speed, it's minimal) We've had a lot of problems with it recently where the download speed will go to close to zero. Frontier support is not very good. They always want me to reset my router for a speed problem. Reset means wipe out all settings and start from scratch.

I can't get Google fiber, at least not yet. And a report from someone who has it suggested it might be very pricey, like $100 / month.

I just spoke with Spectrum and when I told the guy I didn't like being jacked for another $20, making my bill $59.99 he came back with "well if you want a permanent price, I can give you $64.99. When I pointed out that that is a further increase, he was unapologetic and started double talking. He then mumbo-jumbo'd around to give me a promotional price of $54.99,and said I had to sign on for a commitment. To that I asked if that was really his best price, he said yes, and I said my next call will be to cancel. He was a real jerk, and very unapologetic. I can't wait to cancel on them.

I called AT&T. I can get 50mbps via fibre optic for $40 plus tax, or 300mbps for $60. The $40 option requires a $99 activation fee, so it's effectively $48/month. He says it's all inclusive, other than standard sales tax, and equipment is included, no breaks for the fact that I have my own router and modem. 1 year committment

INFO is for anyone else who is interested. (If you want TV, add about $40 for the lowest package, and of course more for more channels, and it's 2 year committment for TV packages)

QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO USE AT&T:
Are you satisfied?
Any caviats?
Are the prices really that simple (plus tax)?
any other concerns, compliments or info?

I'd also like to know how much the price is after the first 12 months?

I don't care that much. By then, I'll be able to go back to Spectrum, or another provider and get a new introductory offer (if they go up very much).

I called after 12 months to their retention center and referenced Spectrum's internet offer - they matched without question (so yes there is some negotiating but it's not as bad - it only involved one 10 minute phone call)
