I doing to long term planning The first question is how are the high tech hardware jobs in the area? Second I see a lot of SF progresses wanting an move to like minded politically intolerant just like the West coast. After decades of bearing with such progressive thinking in Portland Oregon This strong Libertarian Black man, is ready for a change, so where should I live? I want in a conservative / libertarian neighborhood, and local government want to be left alone and work High tech.

Can't answer the tech hardware jobs question, but someone else may be able to field that one.

This area swings Blue more often that Red, but it's pretty purple over all. Durham and Orange counties (Chapel Hill, Carrboro) are strongly blue. Wake County is more mixed, but I don't think there are neighborhoods that would be labeled conservative/libertarian. We're a little more live and let live for the most part, although things have been pretty partisan of late. Generally the Raleigh area swings a little softer to the Blue side, but it's more 60/40 or 55/45 than the 70/30 or 75/25 that you would see in Durham and Chapel Hill. I'm sure you can find some fellow libertarians in Wake Co.
