As early as Summer, 2020.

That's not what Cary is at all anymore (never really was about all beige either, they just have standards) I know council members are all for it. One, Don Franz, even commented in one of the articles specifically about the color saying they didn't care about the color and they would do whatever to make it happen.

I cannot wrap my head around how that'll fit over at CTC, but I may just feel like Charlotte is larger due to the huge parcel it seems to be sitting on.

Cary will have a parking garage. So that will make a big difference.

They're demolishing the entire wing SEARS and Macy's wing, with those buildings inclusive in the demolition. Then they're also tacking on a new parking deck. Should be interesting.

I wouldn't be surprised to see parking under the building, like at the Atlanta IKEA.

Yes! While it will be nice to have for furniture options/housewares (my favorite coffee mugs are Ikea), I am most excited for the lingonberry sauce.

The spokesperson interviewed on WRAL said it would slightly larger than the Charlotte store but in the average range of store sizes globally.
He also said that they've been looking for a site in Raleigh for a long time but that they couldn't find the right fit. The timeline to 2020 is complicated by the fact that there needs to be demo at the existing mall first. Frankly, I am glad that the IKEA won't be pushed to the outer edges of the metro and I think it's worth waiting for a site like this that is more central and accessible to the entire Triangle's population.
